The Italians of May 2009. The MySQL data directory of an Italian private server on an OVH dedicated box, with the metin2_runup database in Big5 and LOCALE = hongkong: Run Up's files were running in Italy four months before rain's release.

What it is
For one day the archive believed it was «the missing half» of the 2009 tarball: same date window, same database. The forensic reading corrected it: the GRANT hosts are an Italian Vodafone ADSL line, the players are 191 Italians out of 205 IPs, 85% of the emails are on .it domains, and the staff (Legolas93, Dulaan…) is that of ClubMT2, remembered as the first Italian private server. On the same instance live clubmt2_forum, an l2jdb (Lineage 2), an ogame, and three world (WoW) databases: a whole stable of private servers.
But the database is named metin2_runup, the charset is big5_bin, the locale is hongkong. The files are Run Up's. In May 2009 the Hong Kong build was running in Italy, and by July a copy already existed in the United States. The «September 19» leak is the public release of something that had been circulating for months.
