The «Metin2 2004 Beta Client» is not from 2004. A legend that has circulated for twelve years: it is the Chinese client from September 2005.

What it is
The file is an MSI with a 287 MB CAB tacked on at the end (offset 3960074) that 7-Zip alone does not see: it only opens the first 237 KB CAB. That is why the scene never read its internal dates. The Metin2 Beta 0.0.0.1/0.0.0.2.exe package that circulates as a «beta» is even less of one: it contains files from 2015-2016.
For twenty years it was held to be the oldest complete Metin2 client, with the Outdoor.epk pack from March 2004. The record now belongs to yitian2-client-2004-10, the October 2004 build.
The evidence

What it is NOT
- It is not from 2004. It is not a beta. The «2004» name is a forum label, not a metadata.
- Superseded: the note «a 2004 Metin2 client does not exist» no longer holds. The October 2004 client exists: yitian2-client-2004-10.
